About Aston-le-Walls Horse Trials

Since its inauguration in 1998, Aston-le-Walls Horse Trials has become one of the most popular horse trials in the eventing calendar. In 2001 it was voted the Event Horse Owners’ Association “most owner friendly event” and in July 2002 the eagerly anticipated advanced course was unveiled to huge applause.

In 2003 the event again won the Event Horse Owners’ Association “most owner friendly event” award. In 2004 new fences were added at the dew pond and sunken road complexes. The advanced event in July 2004 hosted most of the top riders in the country as they prepared to leave for Athens.

In 2006 a completely new course was added and Aston-le-Walls Horse Trials hosted the Quatro Saddlery Grassroots Festival of British Eventing incorporating the Quatro Saddlery British Pre-Novice Championships and the Baileys British Intro Championships in August.

In 2008, we look forward to welcoming the British team for their final run before heading off to Beijing to represent us in the Olympics. We will be hosting an Olympic Dressage test to give the team the best possible preparation. Also, during 2008, we will be adding new portable pre-intro – intro fences to enhance our excellent facilities.

Competitors are handsomely treated with excellent, well-built courses and prepared ground. Spectators have a great day out with excellent catering and interesting tradestands. An exclusive sponsors’ enclosure provides first class catering, excellent views of the course and main water complex and closed circuit TV keeps sponsors and their guests up to date!
